AD to BS Converter
Convert any English date to Bikram Sambat — for citizenship, NEB certificates and official Nepali paperwork.
Nepali (BS) Date
English dates map to Bikram Sambat through the official calendar table — essential because the BS new year starts in mid-April, so January to March dates belong to the previous BS year.
How to use
- Enter AD date: Pick Gregorian year, month and day, e.g. your passport DOB.
- Convert: Get the exact BS date in YYYY-MM-DD plus Nepali month name.
- Use it: Copy the BS date for citizenship, license and academic forms.
Example
1 Jan 2000 AD converts to 17 Poush 2056 BS.
Good to know
The BS year runs mid-April to mid-April, so the simple +57 shortcut fails for January to March dates.
FAQs
How do I convert an English DOB to Nepali date?
Enter the AD year, month and day above. Useful for citizenship and SEE certificates that require BS.
Why is my BS year different from AD year plus 57?
Because the BS new year starts in April. The shortcut fails for January to March dates — use the table-based converter.
Is this accurate for official documents?
Yes for the supported 1944 to 2033 AD range. Cross-check against existing citizenship or passport dates where available.
